Ballet Chelsea presents: Limitless on April 22, 2017

Ballet Chelsea is pleased to present Limitless, a mixed repertory performance featuring classical and contemporary choreography, on April 22, 2017 at 2pm at the Chelsea High School Performing Arts Complex. Dance and music lovers of all ages will enjoy Limitless’s wide range of original choreography set to music by well known composers, performed by dancers and guests from Ballet Chelsea’s Performance Company.

Ballet Chelsea welcomes returning and new choreographers to our stage including a premiere by Sarah Eckart for young artists. Eckart’s Waltz by the River presents a visual exploration of the well known Blue Danube by Johann Strauss II. Caitlin Burke’s Une Danes pour les Personnes Âgées features a dynamic trio of Ballet Chelsea alumni gracing our stage. Returning choreographers include Maddy Prebola, Alyssa Alger, and Ballet Chelsea’s Artistic Director, Wendi DuBois. Prebola’s At Peace features a tightly knit group of pure joy, while Alger presents a somber pas de deux from her Master Thesis concert, Momento Mori. Wendi DuBois’ Wind rounds out the program with a fluid work that flows to music by Philip Glass. This work will be featured at Michigan Youth Arts Festival in May, 2017.

From DuBois’ Splendente, a classical jewel set to Vivaldi, to Carrie Schotte’s Japan, a powerful work entwining explosive movement and powerful music by Yo-Yo Ma and Tan Dun, Limitless offers a dance experience for everyone to enjoy.

Limitless will be performed on April 22, 2017, 2pm at Chelsea High School Performing Arts Center.  Tickets are $10 (general admission seating), and available at balletchelsea.org/limitless, by calling the Ballet Chelsea Studio at (734) 475-3070, or in person at the event.
