Ballet Chelsea is launching their third annual Digital Fundraising Campaign, Partner With Us, running from October 8 through October 17. This campaign is a critical component to Ballet Chelsea’s financial viability as a non profit arts organization.

Since 2020, Ballet Chelsea has raised $72,500 with an impressive 72% raised by studio dancers. This year’s Partner With Us fundraising goal is $35,000. Ballet Chelsea is sharing a small portion of the proceeds with the Chelsea High School Alumni Arbor, giving back to the community that supports them.
Ballet Chelsea has established itself as a multifaceted arts organization within Southeast Michigan. Through hard work and generous community support, the nonprofit organization continues to provide high caliber dance training, arts education, and performance opportunities to students from many mid-Michigan communities.

Ballet Chelsea is devoted to raising funds to provide financial aid and scholarship to make dance accessible for all. Ballet Chelsea provides over $20,000 in scholarships and class discounts to its students each year. They have also developed an Adaptive Dance Program (ADP) to provide free therapeutic, and inclusive programming to dancers who may not otherwise have the opportunity to dance. The ADP classes are free thanks to numerous individual donors and corporate sponsors including the 5 Healthy Towns Foundation, Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation, Chelsea Community Foundation, The Wilkinson Foundation, and Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. Over 350 students and 40 aides move with Ballet Chelsea’s ADP Program.
Community outreach performances and events include the University of Michigan Gift of Arts, Chelsea pre-schools and middle schools, Chelsea Retirement Community, Towsley Memory Care, John Ganton Countryside Grand, and Silver Maples of Chelsea. Ballet Chelsea also performs during Sounds & Sights on Thursday Nights, and at the Chelsea District Library and in the summer of 2022 the launched a free series of community classes downtown Chelsea at Palmer Commons.

This year marks an incredible milestone for the organization, Ballet Chelsea will be celebrating their 25th Anniversary production of The Nutcracker with four performances this December. Since Ballet Chelsea’s first production in 1997, The Nutcracker continues to fill hearts and souls with a magical holiday experience.
