More Than Ballet: Ballet Chelsea Opens Registration for 2026–27

At Ballet Chelsea, the measure of a dance education extends well beyond what happens at the barre.

As families across Southeast Michigan make decisions about the school year ahead, Ballet Chelsea is opening its 2026–27 studio year with a curriculum designed to build not only dancers, but strong, confident, and creative individuals. Fall Semester registration is now open, with classes beginning August 24. Learn more and register at this link.

“Dance education gives students something they can carry far beyond the studio,” said Michelle Quenon, Artistic Director of Ballet Chelsea. “They learn to accept challenges, develop confidence and become part of a community. Technique matters, but so does who they become through the process.”

Ballet Chelsea’s programming reflects the idea that there is more than one way to be a dancer. The Young Dancer Program introduces children as young as three to movement and dance, while the Ballet Training Program provides progressive instruction for developing dancers. Classes include ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, pointe, conditioning, and other disciplines.

Recreational, teen, and adult classes welcome those exploring or returning to dance. At the same time, Ballet Chelsea’s Adaptive Dance Program expands access to movement for participants who may encounter barriers to traditional dance and fitness programs.

If your busy schedule doesn’t allow you to register for the full term, you can join our adult classes on a drop-in basis.

For students pursuing more advanced training, Ballet Chelsea provides a pathway from foundational instruction through performance opportunities. Along the way, dancers learn more than technique and artistry. They learn to prepare, work with others, respond to feedback, and keep going when something doesn’t come easily.

New students can use Ballet Chelsea’s Studio Inquiry process to find an appropriate starting point based on age and experience. Free trial classes are available for many programs. The studio inquiry link can be found at the bottom of their classes page on the website, at this link, or by emailing office@balletchelsea.org.

Fall Semester begins August 24, 2026. Registration is open now at balletchelsea.org.
